Men's Tennis earns 8-1 victory over Martin Luther

NEW ULM, Minn. – The Northwestern College men's tennis team was victorious in UMAC action on Thursday afternoon, defeating Martin Luther College 8-1. Each of the Eagles positions were victories with the exception of the No. 3 doubles team.

NWC's No. 1 singles player in Stephen Fread (Minneapolis, MN/Osseo High School) (Minneapolis, Minn./Osseo) defeated Jonathan Kehl 3-6, 7-6, 10-2, while Fread's teammate and No. 2 singles player Jeremiah Schneck (Faribault, Minn./Faribault) (Faribault, Minn./Faribault) took care of the Knights' David Zuberbier in 6-3, 6-4 fashion. No. 3 singles player Josh Fread (Minneapolis, Minn./Osseo) (Minneapolis, Minn./Osseo) was also very successful, defeating his counterpart 6-1, 6-0.

Northwestern improves to 5-10 overall on the season, while upping its UMAC record to 5-2. The Eagles will play three matches within four days of one another, beginning with a match against North Central University on Saturday, April 25. That match, which will be played at Bethel University, is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
