Women's Soccer sweeps Crown

MINNETONKA, Minn. -- Northwestern College swept Crown College for the second time in a week as the Eagles wrapped up their regular season schedule with a 2-0 win over the Storm on Saturday afternoon. Kyrie Jorgenson (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) and Anna Hilden (Minnetonka, Minn./Southwest Christian) (Minnetonka, Minn./Southwest Christian) each scored a goal in the game for NWC.

After a 0-0 halftime score, Jorgenson broke the scoreless tie with an unassisted goal in the 56th minute. Hilden then added an insurance goal with two minutes remaining on the clock, and the Eagles cruised to a 2-0 victory.

NWC held a 17-9 advantage in shots over Crown in the game. Eagles goalkeeper Rhonda Morgan (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) tallied seven saves en route to her fifth shutout of the season.

Northwestern will play again on Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the UMAC tournament. Second-seeded Northland College will host the third-seeded Eagles at Washburn High School in Washburn, Wis. in a 2 p.m. bout. Tuesday's winner will play either St. Scholastica or Minnesota-Morris on Saturday afternoon.
