NEW ULM, Minn. -- After settling for a double-overtime tie on Friday versus Bethany Lutheran, the Northwestern College women's soccer team didn't settle for anything on Saturday as the Eagles walloped Martin Luther College in a 10-0 final.
Rebekah Kirby (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) added to her already-impressive season, scoring four goals on seven shots. Kyrie Jorgenson (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) added a pair of goals and two assists while Susan Scheil (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek), Heidi Anderson (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Walnut Ridge Academy) (Cedar Falls, Minn./Walnut Creek Academy), Alyssabeth Hester (Mantorville, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville) and Charissa Roby (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) each scored one goal apiece.
Northwestern outshot Martin Luther (1-10 overall, 0-7 UMAC) 36-6 in the game while owning a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Goalkeepers Rhonda Morgan (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) and Tara Kubiszewski (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) both saw action in the game to share the shutout victory. Morgan had three assists during her time in front of the net.
Northwestern (3-4-2 overall, 3-1-2 UMAC) will host Presentation College in its next game of the season on Friday, Oct. 9 at Reynolds Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
