ASHLAND, Wis. (Sep. 20, 2008) – The Northwestern College women's soccer team recorded their first victory of the year on Saturday, defeating Northland College 3-2 in double overtime.

Amy Green (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Walnut Ridge Academy) was the Eagles' hero, scoring the game-winning goal in the 107th minute.
Kyrie Jorgenson (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) was credited with her second assist of the game on the play.
Northland took an early 2-0 lead in the game, as Sarah Strobino and Amanda Seely scored goals within the first 11 minutes. The Eagles stormed back though, as back-to-back goals by
Rebekah Kirby (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) brought NWC even with the Lumberjills. It was the first and second collegiate goals scored for Kirby, who began her career at Northwestern this season as a freshman.
Nikki Seviola (Circle Pines, MN/Centennial High School) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) and Jorgenson assisted on Kirby's goals, setting up Green's score in the second overtime period to seal the Eagles' victory.
Rhonda Morgan (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) had three saves in the game, earning her first collegiate win as a goalkeeper.
Northwestern out-shot their opponents from the north 9-6.
The Eagles (1-3 overall, 1-1 UMAC) will return to action on Friday, when they host the University of Minnesota, Morris at Reynolds Field. That game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
