Box Score

New Ulm, Minn., Sept. 15, 2007
– The Northwestern College women's soccer team evened their season score Saturday, shutting out Martin Luther College 3-0.

One day after scoring her first collegiate goal, Kyrie Jorgenson (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) added two more to her resume as a freshman, scoring the Eagles' first and third goals en route to the shutout over the Knights. As if the goals weren't enough, Jorgenson – known as KJ to her teammates – assisted NWC's other goal by Anna Hilden (Minnetonka, Minn./Southwest Christian) (Minnetonka, Minn./Southwest Christian), who scored on a rebound off of Jorgenson's previous shot off the post.

Jorgenson's first goal came at 32:05, and the Eagles went into halftime with a 1-0 lead. Hilden put her goal through in the 74th minute before Jorgenson scored again not 60 seconds later.

NWC doubled Martin Luther on shots on goal (6-3), while Martin Luther actually held a 6-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Goalkeeper Karen Kruse (Bloomington, MN/Kennedy) (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) posted the first shutout of her career while recording three saves on the day.

Northwestern (2-2, 2-0 UMAC) will resume their Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) schedule next Friday, when they travel to Northland College for a 2 p.m. game on Friday, September 21st.
