Micah Pocernich enters his 2nd year as an Assistant Coach for UNW Men's Basketball in 2026.
A Northwestern alum, Pocernich played for the Eagles from 2020-24 under legendary former head coach, Tim Grosz. His freshman year, UNW won its second NCCAA DI Men's Basketball National Championship in program history after the NCAA canceled the Division III National Tournament that year. His sophomore year, Northwestern qualified for the DIII National Tournament and nearly upset Pomona-Pitzer in the opening round, falling one last-second shot attempt short. As a junior in 2022-23, Pocernich averaged 8.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, shooting 41% from three and 93.8% from the free throw line. An excellent scholar, he was named UMAC Academic All-Conference four times and an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete twice, in addition to the UMAC Sportsmanship Award, CSC Academic All-District and NABC Honors Court in 2022-23.
