Hannah McCarrell was hired in July, 2021 and is entering her second year as an Athletic Trainer at the University of Northwestern.
McCarrell is very versatile, having experience as an athletic trainer in many different sports. Prior to arriving at Northwestern, she was a Graduate Assistant at Concordia University Chicago for two years. She had a lot of responsibilities at CUC, she was in charge of the student workers for the entire Athletic Training department and worked primarily with the Football, Men’s Volleyball, and Women’s Basketball teams.
McCarrell works with men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, softball, and men's and women's tennis at UNW.
McCarrell got her start in athletic training while she was a student earning her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree at Olivet Nazarene University. While earning her undergrad, she worked with the Football, Women’s Basketball, Softball, Track & Field, Swimming, and Baseball teams. During this time, she also gained experience off campus working at Bishop McNamara high School and Kankakee Community College gaining clinical experience.
McCarrell is currently pursuing her master’s degree in education.
