Alicia du’Monceaux is entering her 18th season as the Head Softball Coach at the University of Northwestern in 2026. In addition to her responsibilities leading the softball program, she is also the Athletic Facilities Rental Manager.
Under Coach du’Monceaux, the Eagle softball program has soared to new heights on the national stage. In 2018, du’Monceaux led the Eagles on an historic run through the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament. UNW finished the regular season with a very good record of 25-16, which earned them the #3 seed in the Conference Tournament, a tournament that the Eagles had never won before. Coach du’Monceaux led the Eagles on an unbelievable tear defeating #2 seed Wisconsin-Superior 17-3 and the #1 seeded St. Scholastica twice over two days by scores of 10-1 and 7-3. This earned the Eagles their first ever birth in the NCAA National Tournament.
In 2019, du’Monceaux and the Eagles saw more Tournament success. This time, UNW entered the Tournament as the #4 seed, needing to win four games to repeat as Conference Tournament Champions. Once again, the Eagles were up to the task. Coach du’Monceaux’s squad went on a memorable run for the second year in a row defeating Minnesota-Morris, Bethany Lutheran, and St. Scholastica to earn a spot in the Championship game. The Eagles had a rematch with Bethany Lutheran, who had lost only once all regular season. For the second time that weekend, the Eagles defeated the Vikings, winning 5-0. The Eagles were headed back to the NCAA National Tournament for a second straight season.
During the 2021 season, Coach du’Monceaux became the all-time winningest coach in program history. She has 310 total wins to this date. In 2011, Coach du’Monceaux’s team was named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) top academic team for all of the NCAA’s three divisions. Additionally, in 2021 du’Monceaux was named the NCCAA Gameplan 4 Life award winner.
Coach du’Monceaux attended UNW and pitched for three years for the Eagle program before transitioning to coaching. She was a two-time All-Conference award winner. Coach du’Monceaux ranks 8th in single season pitching wins as a player.
Coach du’Monceaux currently resides in Coon Rapids with her husband, Travis, and their three sons, Owen, Landon and Lawson.
