GREENVILLE, S.C. - The National Christian College Athletic Association has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week recipients for the week of March 18th-24th, and two University of Northwestern Eagles were among them. Nick Drinken (Randolph, Minn./Randolph) was named Baseball Pitcher of the Week, while Annie Orvis (Rochester, Minn/Schaeffer Academy) took home the Women's Tennis honor.

Drinken's spectacular performance on the mound last Tuesday was nearly an historic one and earned him Northwestern Baseball's first NCCAA honor of 2024. The senior took a no-hitter into the final out of the game versus North Central before the Rams managed a two-out single. Nevertheless, Drinken went the distance, striking out 10 while only allowing one hit and one walk in UNW's 16-0 win over NCU. Orvis had a phenomenal week herself en route to becoming the first UNW Women's Tennis player to be named NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week this season. The junior went 4-0 in her matches on Saturday in Iowa as the Eagles defeated Simpson College and Central College. In a 9-0 sweep of Simpson, Orvis won 6-2, 6-4 at #1 singles and 8-2 at #1 doubles (alongside Abby Johnson (Zimmerman, Minn./Homeschool)). In a 5-4 win at Central, Orvis led the way with a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 win at #1 singles and a convincing, 8-1 win at #1 doubles with Johnson.
