LAKE FOREST, Ill. – University of Northwestern Men's Lacrosse traveled to Lake Forest College for their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fell 11-3 to the Foresters. Nonetheless, UNW secured the #3 seed in the MLC Tournament.
Lake Forest scored the lone goal of the first quarter. The Eagles responded midway through the second frame as
Austin Lemke (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Saint Croix Lutheran Academy) scored an unassisted goal to tie the game up at 1-1.
The Foresters went on to score five goals in the second quarter to take a 6-1 lead to halftime. Lake Forest kept up the momentum in the third and fourth quarters as they scored five more goals to go up 11-1 with 3:25 remaining.
Sam Moses (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) scored the second Northwestern goal of the day with 2:18 remaining.
Isaac Geurink (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) followed with another goal for UNW less than a minute later, though Lake Forest would take the win 11-3.
Ryan Adkins (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) continued his stellar season in faceoff opportunities with a 13-17 record in the game, recording 11 ground balls in the process.
On defense, Moses led the Eagles with five caused turnovers.
Jakob Montesi (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) followed with four in the game.
Up next, Northwestern will travel to University of Dubuque for the MLC Semifinals on Wednesday, May 3 at Farwell Field.
