ST. PAUL, Minn. – University of Northwestern Women's Lacrosse hosted Monmouth College on Saturday afternoon for their third conference contest of the season. The Eagles won 20-3 over the Fighting Scots to improve to 8-3 on the season and remain undefeated against MWLC opponents.

Daisy Koffler (Pine City, Minn./Pine City),
Grace Teal (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), and
Samantha Wiebold (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) were each recognized as they compete in their final seasons for Northwestern.
In the game, the Eagles scored four goals in the first quarter and nine more in the second while shutting out the Fighting Scots to take a 13-0 lead into halftime. Northwestern's offense scored 17 consecutive goals while their defense shut out Monmouth for 42 minutes and 25 seconds until the Fighting Scots scored in the closing minutes of the third quarter. UNW traded goals with Monmouth in the fourth quarter en route to their 20-3 victory.
Ava Whitcomb (Otsego, Minn./Rogers) led UNW with nine points and six goals in the game, both single-game career highs for the sophomore. Wiebold scored five goals in the win.
Abby Scheel (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) followed with four goals and an assist for a five-point game.
Cara Smith (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) led the Eagles' defense with six caused turnovers and seven ground balls. Koffler had two saves in the win as UNW outshot Monmouth 42-to-9.
Lauren Paar (Centerville, Minn./Centennial) led all players with seven draw controls. Wiebold followed with four draw controls. Smith had three draw controls.
Up next, Northwestern will host College of Saint Benedict on Wednesday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds Field.
