ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference announced their Players of the Week on Monday and two Northwestern student-athletes earned weekly awards. This week,
Marylyn Schroyer (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins) and
Claire Haakenson (Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) each earned conference honors for UNW. With these awards, the Eagles have earned six Conference Player of the Week honors during the 2022-23 athletic year.
VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marylyn Schroyer (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins)
- Schroyer became the fourth player in program history to eclipse 2,000 career digs this past weekend. The senior averaged 5.3 digs/set and served 4 aces to lead the Eagles' defense in a 2-0 week to stay undefeated at 6-0.
WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Claire Haakenson (Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville)
- Haakenson won the individual medal at the UMAC Preview by leading all golfers in the conference with an 88 (+16) at the UMAC Preview. The sophomore placed first out of the field of 41 competitors. Her performance powered the Eagles to a first-place finish as a team, winning the conference preview.
