ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference all announced their Players of the Week on Monday and three Northwestern student-athletes earned weekly awards. Annie Orvis (Rochester, Minn/Schaeffer Academy), Cara Smith (Watertown, Wis./Watertown), and Owen Boerema (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield), each received the honor for their respective sport. With these awards, the Eagles have earned 74 Conference Player of the Week honors during the 2021-22 athletic year.

WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Annie Orvis (Rochester, Minn/Schaeffer Academy)
- Won all six matches to help Northwestern to three wins
- Earned three straight-set wins at No. 2 singles
- Dropped just seven total singles points in three matches

WOMEN'S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cara Smith (Watertown, Wis./Watertown)
- Led UNW defense in 5-4 win over Wartburg
- Caused a game-high seven turnovers
- Picked up seven ground balls and three draw controls

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Owen Boerema (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield)
- Pitched eight-inning 6-1 win over Minnesota Morris
- Struck out 12 batters with just five hits
- Just the first run allowed against a UMAC opponent this season
