ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference all announced their Players of the Week on Monday and five Northwestern student-athletes earned weekly awards. Sam Moses (Wasau, Wis./Wasau East), Stewart Morrell (Elk River, Minn./Homeschool), Cara Smith (Watertown, Wis./Watertown), Owen Boerema (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield), and Belinda Weddle (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) each received the honor for their respective sport. With these awards, the Eagles have earned 71 Conference Player of the Week honors during the 2021-22 athletic year.

MEN'S LACROSSE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sam Moses (Wasau, Wis./Wasau East)
- Scored five goals in a comeback win over Monmouth
- Collected seven ground balls
- Notched an assist

MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Stewart Morrell (Elk River, Minn./Homeschool)
- Earned two wins in 8-1 UMAC victory over Martin Luther
- Tallied 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles 
- Added 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles

WOMEN'S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cara Smith (Watertown, Wis./Watertown)
- Led game with four caused turnovers
- Game-high six ground balls
- Scored two goals

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Owen Boerema (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield)
- Pitched complete game shutout in 10-0 win over Bethany Lutheran
- Struck out 13 batters and allowed just six hits and two walks
- Owns conference-leading 0.00 ERA and four wins against UMAC teams
