Mersberger Named NCCAA Offensive Player of the Week For Second Time This Season

GREENVILLE, S.C.- The National Christian College Athletic Association named UNW Women's Soccer player Haley Mersberger their National Offensive Player of the Week after her two big performances this week.

The Eagles needed to win both games they played this past week to lock up the #2 seed in the UMAC Postseason Tournament. Haley Mersberger was a big reason the Eagles were able to secure those two important victories. The freshman scored five goals in two games including a hat trick against fellow UMAC playoff team Bethany Lutheran. Mersberger's last goal of that hat trick came in the 82nd minute which broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Eagles the win. The goal also gave her 23 on the season which set a new program record for most goals scored in a season. Mersberger currently has 25 goals on the season which is the 4th most in NCAA Division III.

#2 UNW will host #3 Bethany Lutheran in the UMAC Semifinal game at Reynolds Field on Wednesday, November 2nd at 4:00 P.M.
