MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team traveled to Minnesota Morris for their last game of the unique 2020-21 season. Competing in the third place game of the UMAC Tournament after a loss to St. Scholastica on Wednesday, the Eagles did not let up, getting revenge on the Cougars from earlier in the regular season, winning 3-1.

Josh Pettit completes his 15th season with his 150th win of his career. Freshman,
Megan Moeller (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Christian School) scores her first hat trick of her career (three goals) to lead UNW in their final game of the season. To end the 25th year of women's soccer at Northwestern, the team finished with a 10-7 overall record and finishing 5-3 in regular season play.
The Eagles wasted no time scoring their first goal in the second minute of the game off of a beautiful ball played by midfielder
Emily Currie (Minneapolis, Minn./Home School) for
Megan Moeller (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Christian School) to run on to and find the corner of the goal. Just over one minute later, Megan took a shot from far out that soared over the Morris goalkeepers head to secure the 2-0 lead going into halftime.
Northwestern took 11 shots in the first half while taking seven corner kicks. Goalie
Ellie Fryer (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) had three saves in the half.
The Eagles continued to possess and take many shots in the second half as
Megan Moeller (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Christian School) finished a free kick taken by senior defender
Taylor Brinkman (Hudson, Wis./Hudson). Just six minutes later, the Cougars scored one on UNW to bring the score to 3-1.
Northwestern continued to battle and finished the game with 22 shots (13 shots-on-goal).
Megan Moeller (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Christian School) finished her freshman season with a bang, scoring three goals and taking 15 shots (five shots-on-goal). Senior
Emily Currie (Minneapolis, Minn./Home School) ended the game with seven shots (two SOG) and two assists. Senior
Danielle Roberts (Hastings, Minn./Hastings) finished her last game with six shots (three SOG).
