GREENVILLE, S.C. - The National Christian College Athletic Association announced their weekly national awards on Monday, and the University of Northwestern had five Eagles earn Student-Athlete of the Week honors.

NCCAA Baseball Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week
Owen Boerema (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield) struck out 13 (19.5 K/9) in just six innings of work to lead the Eagles to a crucial conference win over the Vikings. The sophomore allowed just one run in the win. In his last three starts, Boerema has pitched 24.0 innings and allowed just one run (0.38 ERA) while striking out 36 batters (12.0 K/9) to lead Northwestern to the top of the UMAC standings.
NCCAA Softball Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week
Ellie Ronning (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria Area) hit .667 with a 1.222 slugging percentage to lead the Eagles to two conference victories last week. The senior had six hits with two triples and a double, driving in seven runs and scoring another four. Ronning also stole a base.
NCCAA Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week
Mattie Krause (Clear Lake, Iowa/Clear Lake) led the Eagles in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship by shooting a 265 (+49) over three rounds to place fourth overall out of the field of 41 golfers. Her score led the Eagles to a second place finish out of eight competing conference teams.
NCCAA Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week
Stewart Morrell (Elk River, Minn./Homeschool) led the University of Northwestern with an 8-2 record in matches on the week. In singles play, Morrell defeated opponents from Hamline University (6-2, 7-5), Crown College (6-0, 6-0), Bethany Lutheran College (6-0, 6-0), and University of Minnesota Morris (6-0, 6-2). In doubles play, he won against Crown (8-0), University of Wisconsin Superior (8-5), Bethany Lutheran (8-0), and UM-Morris (8-1).
NCCAA Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week
Belinda Weddle (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) went 5-0 in her matches and helped the Eagles finish 3-0 on the week. Weddle defeated singles opponents from Crown College (6-1, 6-0), University of Wisconsin Superior (6-5, 7-6 (7-3)), and Hamline University (4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7)). In doubles play, she won against UW-Superior (8-6) and Hamline (8-4).
