Box Score MOUNT VERNON, Iowa. – The University of Northwestern St. Paul Men's Lacrosse team challenged the Cornell College Rams on Saturday evening, as the Eagles scored relentlessly in a 27-5 victory. Northwestern controlled the contest throughout, taking 77 shots to the Rams' 19.
UNW had four players score five goals apiece in the game. The quartet of Chase Marlenee (Northfield, Minn./Northfield), Bryce Schmidgall (Hancock, Minn./Hancock), Keller Stephens (Lino Lakes, Minn./Mounds View), and Noah Vander Kooi (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) combined to score 20 goals for the Eagles in the landslide win. Stephens also led UNW with five assists.
Four more Eagles accounted for the remaining seven goals. Mat Anderson (Little Canada, Minn./Roseville) recorded a hat trick, Evan Anderson (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) scored twice, and the duo of Isaac Geurink (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) and Brenden Schuffenhauer (Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial) each found the net to round out the long list of UNW goal scorers.
Schuffenhauer dominated the faceoffs, winning 25 of 35 for Northwestern.
In goal, Christoph Tisdale (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) recorded five saves to earn his second win of the season.
