MONTGOMERY, ILL. – The University of Northwestern men's lacrosse team traveled to Illinois to take on the Spartans of Aurora University. Prior to this afternoon's game, the Spartans were sitting at second in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) standings, while the Eagles were resting at seventh. Northwestern falls to Aurora by a final score of 21-2 in the two programs first-ever meeting.

Chase Marlenee (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) found the back of the net in the first quarter. The Spartans took control of the rest of the first half, as they scored 14 unanswered goals to go up 14-1 entering halftime.
Aurora kept up the pressure in the second half, as they outscored UNW 7-1 in the final two frames of play. Marlenee was able to find the back of the net again late in the fourth quarter, and was unassisted in the two lone goals for Northwestern. In net, Zach Schockency tallied 15 saves in the loss.
