ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern women's soccer and volleyball teams are gearing up to host the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament Championships on Saturday.
Women's Soccer Preview
The University of Northwestern women's soccer team will battle UW-Superior in the league finale. The Eagles have faced the Yellowjackets twice this season, winning both times. In the teams' last match-up, Northwestern grabbed a 4-0 win led by
Anna Welch (Lakeville, Minn./Homeschool) who scored two goals for the Eagles. Superior upset No. 1 seed, St. Scholastica in semifinal action on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. at Reynolds Field on Saturday.
The Eagles enter the playoff contest as the No. 2 seed, while the Yellowjackets are the No. 4 seed in the tournament. The winner of tomorrow's contest will advance to the NCAA tournament next week, gaining an automatic team bid.

Volleyball Preview
The top-seeded Eagles will welcome the third-seeded Cougars for a 7 p.m. tilt with an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament on the line. The two teams met twice during the regular season where it was UNW taking both matches, the first 3-0 and the second in a 3-2 comeback battle. First serve is set for 7 p.m. as Northwestern hunts for their seventh straight UMAC Tournament title.
