Box Score ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team welcomed Augsburg Auggies (10-5-0, 6-2-0 MIAC) to a mid-week non-conference contest. Augsburg was able to come in and defeat UNW by a final score of 4-1. With the loss, the Eagles move to 6-6-4 overall and remain at 6-2-1 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play.
The first half was dominated much by the Auggies, as they out shot the Eagles 15-2. The Northwestern defense held strong for as long as they could, but Augsburg was able to net two goals. The Eagles trailed 2-0 entering halftime.
Augsburg kept up their offense in the second half, scoring two more goals. The Eagles were able to notch a goal of their own from
Emily Daubenmier (Kijabe, KE./Rift Valley Academy), but it was not enough to overcome the Auggies. The Eagles would be defeated by the final score of 4-1.
