ST. PAUL, MINN. – In Wednesday's home finale, the University of Northwestern women's soccer team beat Crown College (0-17, 0-12), 9-0, to remain undefeated in conference play. With the win, the Eagles improve to 10-6-1 on the season, and sit first in league play with a 10-0-1 record. On the contest, UNW also picked up a share of the regular season title, as well as the No. 1 seed for the postseason conference tournament.
The team also honored its eight seniors –

Megan Larsen (Appleton, Wis./Appleton East),
Anna Hitterdal (St. Louis Park, Minn./Southwest Christian),
Emily Goeppinger (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield),
Aislinn Kavanaugh (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy),
Kimi Compton (Rosemount, Minn./Apple Valley), and
Anna Martinson (Apple Valley, Minn./Homeschool) – thanking them for their contributions both on and off the field at Northwestern.
A powerful first half paved the way to a 6-0 lead for the purple and gold by the intermission break, as
Linley Norman (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake),
Megan Larsen (Appleton, Wis./Appleton East),
Anna Welch (Lakeville, Minn./Homeschool),
Dana Lehtinen (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove), and
Maddie Leever (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny Christian) all scored on the period.
Wrapping up the opening half, UNW held a distinct advantage in shots over CC, recording 25, respectively.
Powering through the second frame, Lehtinen, Larsen, and Norman all knocked in goals for the home team, allowing the Eagles to soar to a 9-0 win on Senior Day.
Capping off the contest, UNW totaled an impressive 53 shots [32 SOG], outshining CC's two shots [2 SOG].
Northwestern's game leaders on the day's competition were Norman [10S / 7 SOG / 2G / 1A], Welch [9S / 6SOG / 2G], Larsen [6S / 3 SOG / 2G], Lehtinen [4S / 3 SOG / 2G / 1A], Leever [2S / 1 SOG / 1G], and Martinson [4A].

Samantha Dewey (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) recorded her sixth shutout win on the season.
