PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The University of Northwestern women's soccer team were defeated 3-0 by Trinity Christian College in the NCCAA Regional Playoff game Tuesday afternoon.
The Trinity Trolls had 15 more shots on goal than the Eagles, conquering the field on offense. Jessica Bianchi scored the first goal with 38:33 on the clock. Bianchi later scored her second goal in the 82nd minute. With a last minute push to secure another goal, Brooklyn Celebron scored with 50 seconds left in the game.
Josie Monson (Albertville, Minn./Homeschool) had an impressive 13 saves for the Eagles, but with the overwhelming amount of shots, the Eagles couldn't hold down Trinity.
Trinity Christian (13-7) will advance to the NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida. The Eagles ended their 2015 season with a record of 13-7.
