Women's Soccer returns home to face Bethel after 2-0 loss to Augsburg

MINNEAPOLIS -- Northwestern College found itself on the losing end of a 2-0 final score in Tuesday's women's soccer game against Augsburg College. The Auggies outshot the Eagles 23-9 en route to shutting out NWC in nonconference action.

Augsburg's Bri Clarks scored on the left side after a corner kick to put the home team up 1-0 just 2:42 into the game. 12 minutes later, Carly Reimer found the back of the net, heading a corner kick past Northwestern's Tara Hanson (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek Christian) (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek). Courtney Gamrath earned assists on both plays for the Auggies. Neither team was able to score a goal for the game's remaining 75 minutes, resulting in a 2-0 final.

Courtney Davis (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Abraham Lincoln) (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Abraham Lincoln) got two shots on goal for the Eagles, while Kyrie Jorgenson (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) added another shot on goal.

Northwestern returns home for its next scheduled contest on Thursday, September 9 against Bethel University. That contest is set for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
