Augsburg's lone goal does Eagles in

ST. PAUL -- The Northwestern College women's soccer team was on the losing side of a 1-0 score against Augsburg College as the sun departed Reynolds Field on Tuesday afternoon. Since their opening game of the season versus Concordia-St. Paul, the Eagles have been held scoreless in their last four games.

Lacey Hoover's goal at the 47:14 mark was the difference-maker for Augsburg as she beat Northwestern's players on the right side of the box before putting a shot over goalkeeper Rhonda Morgan (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek).

Northwestern was outshot 15-4 in the game while Augsburg held a 14-2 advantage in corner kicks. Morgan had six saves in the loss while allowing the one goal. Augsburg's Taylor Becker had one save.

Following the loss, Northwestern falls to 0-4-1 on the season while Augsburg improves to 2-3-2. The Eagles will resume their UMAC schedule this Friday, Sep. 25, when they travel to Morris, Minn. to take on the University of Minnesota, Morris. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
