Women's soccer continues undefeated record against Bethany Lutheran

ST. PAUL (Oct. 3, 2008) – The Northwestern College women's soccer team has two really good things going their way this season: they win when they play at home and they win when Anna Hilden (Minnetonka, Minn./Southwest Christian) scores.

Hilden (Minnetonka, Minn./Southwest Christian) scored yet-another game-winning goal for the Eagles, as Northwestern defeated Bethany Lutheran College by a score of 2-0. Hilden's goal, which was assisted by Rebekah Kirby (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial), came in the game's 57th minute. The junior has scored all three of her goals this year at Reynolds Field, and Northwestern has won in each of those games.

Hilden followed by showing some love to the teammate that set up her goal, assisting on a score by Kirby at 61:49 in a give-and-go to make the score 2-0, continuing the Eagles all-time undefeated record against the Vikings.

Northwestern and Bethany Lutheran were equal in the shots category, as each team tallied 10 in the game. Six of the Eagles' shots were on goal.

Rhonda Morgan (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) (Andover, Minn./Meadow Creek) recorded three saves in the game en route to her third shutout of the season.

With the win, Northwestern improves to 5-4-0 overall and 4-1-0 UMAC. The Eagles have won five of their last six contests.

NWC will host Martin Luther College on Saturday in Part Two of a weekend doubleheader. That game at Reynolds Field is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
