Box Score
Arden Hills, Minn., Oct. 6, 2007 – The Northwestern College women's soccer team won their UMAC battle with Bethany Lutheran on Saturday, but may have lost something bigger than a game in goalkeeper
Karen Kruse (Bloomington, MN/Kennedy) (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy). Kruse, who had logged all of the Eagles' minutes at keeper this season and recorded three saves, suffered a knee injury 70 minutes into the game, and could be lost for the season.
Kyrie Jorgenson (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) was dominant once again, scoring all three of Northwestern's goals in a 3-1 finish. After Bethany Lutheran's Allison Lambrecht scored the game's first goal at 7:17, Jorgenson followed with scores in the eighth, 52nd and 74th minutes. Jorgenson now has 13 goals on the season.
Nikki Seviola (Circle Pines, MN/Centennial High School) (Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial) and
Amy Green (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) recorded assists on two of Jorgenson's three goals.
Northwestern, who improves to 5-6-1 (5-3-1 UMAC), will take six days off before hitting the road next Friday, when they travel to Minnesota-Morris for the first of back-to-back conference games. Friday's game is set for a 3 p.m. start.
