Box Score

St. Paul, Minn., Sept. 29, 2007
– After having a heyday with Presentation on Friday, the Northwestern College women's college struggled with another conference opponent in the University of Minnesota-Morris, losing to the Cougars 4-0 at Reynolds Field.

Neither team scored in the initial half, although UMM got 12 shots off, compared to the Eagles one. Ashley Simpson broke the tie early in the second half, scoring an unassisted goal at 46:40 to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead. Nina Jarnot added an insurance goal five minutes later, boosting Morris' lead to 2-0.

The Cougars struck again in the 79th minute, as Andre Carroll-Franck scored two straight goals within three minutes of one another to give UMM the eventual 4-0 win.

Morris owned the Eagles in shots, holding the upper hand of a 29-4 tally.

Karen Kruse (Bloomington, MN/Kennedy) (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) had eight saves in the loss.

Northwestern, now 3-5-1 (3-3-1 UMAC), will resume their 2007 campaign on Tuesday, when they travel two miles to Bethel University for a 4 p.m. contest.
