At Northwestern
  • Head women’s lacrosse coach since 2014 (4th Season)
  • Led the Eagles to a program-best 11-5 record in 2017
  • Coached back-to-back athletes who ranked No. 1 in NCAA DIII Women’s Lacrosse in ground balls per game, as well as one player rank within the top 20 in draw controls per game
  • Records 16 career wins to date
 
Personal
  • Graduated from Bethel University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education in 2012
  • Worked as a full-time physical education teacher while working at Woodbury High before coming aboard Northwestern
  • Former head coach of the Woodbury High School varsity program, as well as the assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach at Mounds View High School
  • As team captain for the Bethel club team, Sawyer led the squad in scoring
  • She was one of 17 players in the 24-team conference (NCWLL), which included Iowa State University, North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota Duluth, to score at least 20 goals in 2012
  • Sawyer and her husband, Brian, reside in Otsego, Minnesota
