Men’s Soccer 1983-1986

The way Lee Nyquist’s friends describe him as being honest, hard working and always looking for the fun side of life is no surprise, as Lee’s approach to the game of soccer was the same during his four seasons at Northwestern from 1983 to 1986. On the field, Nyquist, a goalkeeper, was a part of three consecutive winning seasons, including a program-best 16 victories in both 1985 and 1986 that earned the Eagles a pair of conference championships.

Having been away from the soccer field as a player, Nyquist has been heavily involved in the activities of his family and church, joining with his wife Kris in their lifelong pursuit of putting God first in their lives.

Lee’s departure from the soccer pitch didn’t last long, as he now uses his knowledge and skills of the game for coaching purposes. Nyquist has coached youth soccer in Elk River, Minn. for the past seven years.
