Every team needs a Julie Johnson.  Gifted athlete.  Team Leader.  And a goofball who lightens things up.  A four-year letter winner in basketball (1985-89), “Hooper” scored over 1000 points as a shooting guard, earning MWCC all-Conference and team MVP honors in 1987-88 and 1988-89.  As a senior, she captained her team to the 1989 NCCAA District Championship and National Tournament.  On the softball field, Julie starred as a middle infielder, twice being named to the MWCC all-Tournament Team.  A .400 batting average won her MWCC All-Conference honors in 1987.  In 1988 she helped her team to the NCCAA District Championships and in 1989 to NWC’s first-ever twenty-victory season.

Julie adds life wherever stationed.  After graduating she taught physical education for eight years and coached high school soccer, basketball, and fast-pitch softball.  Active in church, she taught Sunday school, led high school small groups, chaperoned missions trips to Europe and Mexico, and helped with Moms in Touch.  At home, Julie is a full-time mother of three.  She’s also the “fun mom” out in the yard where all the neighborhood kids play.
