ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of Northwestern's
Amy Berglund (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) and
Taryn Tumbleson (Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West) were recognized by the National Christian College Athletic Association [NCCAA] Tuesday, as both athletes were named North Central All-Region for women's basketball.

Topping off another stellar season at UNW, Berglund averaged an impressive 15.8 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game, while also dishing out close to three assists per contest. In her solid efforts, Berglund hit over 51 percent of her shots from the hardwood and netted 75 percent of her attempts at the charity stripe. The junior guard also finished fifth in scoring and second in field goal percentage in the league.
On the season, Berglund also scored her 1,000th career point in Northwestern's 64-55 win at Crown, respectively.
Tumbleson closed out her career with a strong senior season, as the hot-shooting guard averaged 10.4 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. She netted more than 40 percent of her shots from the floor and sank 59 percent of her attempts from the free throw line. Tumbleson also finished fifth in both blocked shots and steals in the conference, respectively.
