SUPERIOR, WIS. – The University of Northwestern women's basketball team saw its season come to a close against the top-seeded University of Wisconsin-Superior [22-4] on Wednesday night. The Eagles fell to the Yellowjackets by a final score of 65-54. With the loss, UNW end its year 14-13.
Northwestern battled Superior through the first quarter, ending with the score tied 12-12. In the second period, UWS pulled ahead with a 7-0 run to end the frame and entered half time with a lead of 29-22.
For the half, the Yellowjackets outshot the Eagles with a shooting percentage of 46.4 compared to UNW's percentage of 38.5.
In the second half, UWS maintained their lead and outscored Northwestern in both frames to win the game 65-54. With the win, UW-Superior will move on to host Bethany Lutheran College in the championship game on Saturday.

Amy Berglund (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) led all scorers with 24 points, hitting 11-for-19 from the field and adding five steals. Junior
Taryn Tumbleson (Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West) also reached double-digits, scoring 12 points. Tumbleson added four assists, and
Alex Peterson (St. Paul, Minn. /Como Park) chipped in with four assists and two blocks.
