RIVER FALLS, WIS. - The University of Northwestern men's cross country team soared to a sixth place finish at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Invitational Friday.

As the race got underway, Senior
Jackson Peterson (Carlton, Minn./Carlton) fronted the pack, finishing first for the Eagles in 28:00. Junior
Eric Melendez (Richfield, Minn./Eagle Ridge Academy) worked hard to stay close by, as he came through the line in 28:36.
Junior
Brent Wipf (Shakopee, Minn./Eagle Ridge Academy) showed some speed, passing several competitors in the last stretch of the race to finish in 30:05, while Junior
Dillon Clark (Plainview, Minn./Plainview-Elgin-Millville) clocked a personal-best time of 31:18.
Making his collegiate debut, Freshman
Matthew Kinfu (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) completed the course in 34:34, respectively.
Carleton took home the team title, finishing with 19 points overall.
