ST. PAUL – Following its 4-0 opening weekend performance, the University of Northwestern volleyball team moved up two spots to No. 2 in Tuesday's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Poll.

Tuesday's ranking is the highest-ever in program history after the Eagles were slotted fourth in the AVCA's Preseason Poll back in August.

UNW started its season in style, dropping just one set en route to winning its first four matches. Included in that list was a 3-1 victory over UW-Stevens Point, who is receiving votes (43) in the poll.

The Eagles will have the week off before they head to Minneapolis for a very challenging weekend of play. UNW will take on perennial powers St. Thomas and UW-Lacrosse Friday before closing out the weekend with matches with two more powers in UW-Eau Claire and host Augsburg on Saturday.
