ST. PAUL, MINN. – In Monday's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference [UMAC] weekly announcement, the University of Northwestern had four athletes claim Player of the Week awards.

UNW's
Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) earned her second nomination of the season, as the senior outside hitter was voted offensive player of the week for volleyball. Peterson helped lead the Eagles to three wins on the week, collecting 53 kills [5.30 k/s] including 21 in the teams win over the University of Minnesota Morris, and finishing with a .310 hitting percentage and 30 digs.
Jackie Doering (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) picked up her first recognition on the season, as the senior libero's solid defensive efforts earned her the league's defensive weekly honor. Doering recorded 55 digs [4.58 per set] in four UNW wins, noted 18 digs in the teams four-set win over UM-Morris, and tallied eight assists and three aces in addition to her outstanding performance.

Turner Main (Kewaunee, Wis./Kewaunee) notched the men's soccer defensive player of the week award. The senior standout helped lead Northwestern to a 1-1 draw against North Central, finishing with eight saves on the 110-minute battle. Main also holds a 0.460 UMAC-best conference GAA with just one goal allowed in 195:28 minutes played.
Daniel Stratton (Lucerne Valley, Calif./Lucerne Valley) rounded out the accolades on the afternoon, as he has named defensive player of the week for football. The senior defensive back recorded an impressive 13 tackles – including two for a loss in loss to Greenville – on Saturday. Stratton also noted 1.5 sacks and a pass breakup, and forced two fumbles and recovered one on the contest.
