Junior Nick Swore (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian), a defensive back on Northwestern's football team, slated his first award on the season as he led the Eagles to a 19-13 overtime victory over Eureka College in Saturday's home opener. Swore recorded two interceptions, including one in overtime, and totaled 11 tackles on the afternoon battle.

Leading the purple and gold at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Invitational last Saturday, Sophomore Jane Hulterstrum (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield) crossed the finish line in 25:46 to place within the top-30 among all competitors.

Shining on the green, Sophomore Nick Mahowald (Watertown, S.D./Watertown) swung an impressive low round of 70 (-2) to help UNW secure a second-place finish at the UMAC Men's Golf Preview. In his solid efforts, Mahowald also collected medalist honors, and now leads the conference with a 73.0 strokes per round average.

In Augsburg University's two-day tournament, Jackie Doering (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) had a strong showing as she totaled 89 digs (6.85 per set) in four matches. The senior libero also collected 29 digs in the teams four-set loss to Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and earned All-Tournament Team honors.

Protecting the goalie box, Samantha Dewey (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) tallied 13 saves and surrendered just one goal in the teams 1-0 loss to Bethel University. Dewey also caught 11 saves in Northwestern's loss to Carleton Saturday, finishing the week with an impressive 33 saves in a three-game span.
