MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Northwestern women's tennis team (24-6) fell 6-3 to the College of St. Scholastica (18-5) in Saturday's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament Championship at the Baseline Tennis Center.

Northwestern faced a 2-1 deficit after doubles play, as
Brooke Lapinski (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) and Rachel Lukkarilla teamed up at No. 2 doubles to earn an 8-5 victory.
Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ) and Nikkie Edin fell at No. 1 doubles, 8-6, while
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) and
Gracie LeBrun (Pine City, Minn./Pine City ) dropped their match, 8-2.
In singles action,
Karen Moe (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South ) kept her historic season rolling, as she cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles, while
Emily Knight (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) at No. 5 singles picked up UNW's third point with her thrilling win in the tiebreaker.
