Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) garnered her second-straight AVCA Central Region Player of the Year honor Thursday. Joining Peterson on the All-Central Region First Team was
Leesa Malone (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), while
Jackie Doering (Charles City, Iowa/Charles City) took home honorable mention accolades.

Peterson, who was also named to the All-Central Region First Team in 2015 and 2016, is averaging 4.83 kills per set and 3.77 digs per set this season for the 32-6 Eagles. The reigning AVCA Division III National Player of the Year also became the school record holder in career digs and kills this season. In addition to the region honor, Peterson was named UMAC Player of the Year for the third-consecutive year earlier this week.
Malone finds herself on the First Team for the first time in her career as she wraps up an outstanding career for UNW. The senior is averaging 6.70 assists per set and 1.55 kills per set from her setter position. Doering, also a senior, has been a defensive standout throughout her four years at Northwestern, and is averaging 4.66 digs per set this season.
The Eagles will take on Cornell at 8 p.m. Thursday inside the Ericksen Center in the first round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament. More information can be found at www.unweagles.com.
