Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) has been named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) First Team All-American – her second honor in as many years after she was selected as a First Team All-American and the AVCA Division III Player of the Year in 2016. Leesa Malone (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) was named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American for her efforts this fall.

Peterson – who will exit Northwestern as the program's all-time leader in career kills (2,151) and career digs (2,234) – helped the Eagles make their third-straight NCAA Division III Sweet 16 appearance. UNW finished with a 34-7 tally – tying a school record with its 34 victories.
Peterson was three times named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player of the Year and was a four-time UMAC All-Conference honoree. Last week, the Sheffield, Iowa, native was named the AVCA's Central Regional Player of the Year.
Malone was an All-Central Region pick last week after earning UMAC First Team honors earlier this fall. Malone directed the UNW attack all fall and used her height to be a force at the net. She averaged 6.67 assists per set, while also slamming an impressive 203 kills this fall. In addition, Malone put up 82 blocks – a tally that ranked second on the Eagles' squad.
