For the fourth consecutive time this season, UNW's
Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) earned the volleyball offensive player of the week award. The senior standout had a monster week, as she helped the Eagles remain unbeaten in UMAC play, as well as sweep No. 17 St. Thomas. The outsider hitter collected 65 kills [5.41 kills/set], hit a whopping .404 with just eight errors in 141 attempts, and racked up 41 digs.
Garnering her third honor on the 2017 term,
Samantha Dewey (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) claimed the women's soccer defensive player of the week award. The junior goalkeeper put together a career-best performance against the University of Jamestown, recording 19 saves [0.950 save %] on the game. Then, in UNW's 2-1 homecoming victory over St. Scholastica, Dewey caught an impressive 13 saves [0.929 save %] to complete the week with 32 saves overall.
Senior
Mac Saby (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) rounded out the accolades on the afternoon, as he received the men's golf weekly award. Saby had a pair of strong outings, as he took home medalist honors at both the UNW Invite and Viking Invite. In his solid efforts, he carded an even-par 71 at the Gross National to help the Eagles grab first place, and then followed that up with a two-day 150 to propel Northwestern to another first-place team finish at the Viking Invite.
