ST. PAUL, MINN. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference [UMAC] announced its player of the week award winners Monday afternoon. Garnering the offensive player and setter of the week honors for volleyball were
Lindsey Peterson (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork) and
Leesa Malone (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), while
Josiah Donat (Elk River, Minn./Washtenaw Christian Academy) earned the offensive recognition for men's soccer.

Peterson guided the No. 7 Eagles to a 3-1 week, clinching wins over Minnesota Morris [3-2], St. Mary's University [3-0], and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls [3-0]. The senior outside hitter also broke Northwestern's all-time digs record and all-time kills record, as she racked up 62 kills [.413 kills/set], hitting .304, and posted 66 digs [4.40 digs/set] in four matches.
Malone also put up big numbers last week, averaging 6.93 assists per set [104 total] to help the Eagles hit .240 in UNW's four-match span. The senior setter also slammed 22 kills, respectively.
In Northwestern's mid-week battle against UM-Morris, Donat buried a hat trick of goals all within the first 45-minute frame, helping the Eagles soar to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Cougars. In his dominant efforts, the senior forward now rests second on the conference leader board for goals scored this season.
