FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – The University of Northwestern women's cross country teams competed at the Roy Griak Invitational Saturday morning. The meet, which is one of the largest nationally and is in its 30
th year, was held at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Final ResultsThe UNW squad ran to a 14
th place finish, as the Eagles were led by sophomore
Danica White (Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy), who finished the challenging course in 26:51.4. White finished 66
th overall in the race. Alyssa Arends came in second for Northwestern and 82
nd overall, crossing the line in 27:35.2.
Breanna Himmerich (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea) (28:37.8) and
Lisa Greenslade (Pine Island, Minn./Pine Island ) (28:48.0) both cracked the top 100, finishing 98
th and 99
th, respectively.
Wellesley College, out of Wellesley, Mass., won the team title after compiling a team time of 120:20.9, while Kim Meyer of Macalester ran away with the individual title.
The Eagles will race at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire BluGold Invitational next Friday. The action is slated to get underway at 4:15 p.m.
