ST. PAUL — It was a successful day for the University of Northwestern at the Holst Invitational hosted by Concordia University on Saturday. The Eagles returned home with many top-five finishes that happened throughout the day.
ResultsThe men's 4x100-meter relay team consisting of
Jordan Spahr (Pine City, Minn./Pine City),
Jacob Fettig (Waconia, Minn./Waconia),
LeRoy Malone (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) and
Teddy Friedman (Becker, Minn./Becker) started the meet with a third place finish (45.69). Both Malone and
Spencer Steel (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Homeschool)e ran in the 200 meter dash, finishing in 10th and 11th places, respectively, at 23.51 and 23.66 seconds. Sophomore
Connor Wohlenhaus (Des Moines, Iowa/Des Moines Christian) was the fifth man to cross the line in his 110-meter hurdles race, finishing in 16.76 seconds. After nearly matching the school record in the 800-meter race at the Tom Cat Twilight two days ago,
Wil Maki (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) finished third overall in the 1500-meter run at Concordia with a time of 4:07.02.
In the field events,
Baruch Fischer (Silver Bay, Minn./William M Kelly HS)'s shot put throw of 12.58 meters (41-3) landed him in 12th place. Fischer also placed 13th in the discus competition with a throw of 34.58 meters (113-5).
Next Thursday, the Northwestern men head to another local meet as they participate in the the Bolstroff Men's Twilight at Hamline University.
