ST. PAUL, Minn.—The University of Northwestern track and field team runners made its first outdoor appearance of the season at Hamline University. Cody Sprenger (Grey Eagle, Minn./Long Prairie-Grey Eagle) shot out of the gate and secured fourth place (49.81) in the men's 400-meter dash. Sprenger's time also shattered last year's top UNW 400-meter time by more than two seconds.

Wil Maki (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) continues to impress in the 800-meter dash, placing 12th in the event while topping his indoor school record time of 1:58.20 with a 1:57.59 performance. Sophomore
Kyle Anenson (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) ran the 400-meter hurdles for the first time this season, squeaking into the top 10 at 1:01.07.
Baruch Fischer (Silver Bay, Minn./William M Kelly HS) threw 12.52 meters in the shot put for 19th place, and new-to-outdoor junior
Ayeir Karnwie-Tuah (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) threw 11.82 meters in his first meet of the season (24th place)
Next week, the Eagles make a short trip through St. Paul for the Holst Invitational at Concordia University.
